About

Healthcare infrastructure, built the way software is built

We were the team that kept getting handed the integration work. Different hospitals, different vendors, and every time the same brief: wire this system to that one, prove the clinical logic is correct, then hand it over. At the end of each engagement the code was archived and the next team started from an empty repository.

Software solved this a long time ago with packages, versions and review. Healthcare has the harder version of the problem, because the artefact being reused has to be approved by someone accountable, and the approval has to be provable afterwards.

So MedBackend treats clinical pipelines the way software treats packages — versioned, reviewable, reusable — while treating publication the way medicine treats prescription: a named person signs off, and that sign-off is what makes it live.

We build on open standards, because infrastructure that locks you in is not infrastructure. FHIR R4, SMART on FHIR and OAuth 2.0, with the platform hosted in Switzerland.
